Raiffeisen Bank Romania has announced an exclusive partnership with Visa, moving away from its previous collaboration with Mastercard. This significant change will be marked by the introduction of the “Cardul Galben Care Face Bine” (The Yellow Card That Does Good).
Card Replacement Timeline
All Raiffeisen cards will transition to Visa:
- Credit Cards: From July 15 to October 31, 2024
- Debit Cards:From August 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025
The new Visa cards will feature a modern design and be made from 99% recycled plastic. Additionally, they will include Braille information for visually impaired customers. Despite the switch, customers will retain all existing benefits and functionalities of their cards.
Our clients will have the same benefits, and nothing changes regarding the functionality of the cards. The new Raiffeisen cards have Braille information for the benefit of visually impaired clients.

The Yellow Card initiative supports positive community causes. For every transaction made with this card, Raiffeisen Bank will donate to the Asociația Dăruiește Viață, contributing to the development of a new medical campus.
The bank expects approximately 100 million transactions with the new card, leading to an estimated donation of 200,000 euros on top of an initial one million euros.
Digitalization has always been a priority for Visa as it helps consumers and companies adapt to a rapidly changing global economy with faster, simpler, and more secure transactions. Raiffeisen Bank has been with us for over three decades in building the local payment ecosystem, and our new exclusive partnership, issuing all cards under the Visa brand, is a milestone in the Romanian market, allowing us to accelerate the innovation process needed in the payments sector.
