revolut eSim Romania

Revolut is launching an eSIM service for its customers in Romania and across the Economic European Area (EEA). This makes it one of the first digital-only banks in the region to do so. This new service is all about making life easier for people who love to travel or need to stay connected without incurring roaming charges.

Starting March 25th, 2024, Revolut’s 3.5+ million customers in Romania will be able to get an eSIM through the Revolut app. This will eliminate the need for physical SIM cards and allow customers to top up their data on the go in over 100 countries.

Key Features of Revolut's eSIM Service

  • Open to Everyone: This service is available to all Romanian Revolut customers with eSIM-compatible devices, regardless of their plan.
  • Switching Made Simple: Once installed, customers can easily hop between networks, ensuring they are always connected without fear of roaming charges.
  • Global Data Plans:Heading abroad? No worries. You can choose from over 20 tokens for quick buys directly into your wallet, including favorites like ETH, USDC, and USDT.
  • Travel Ready: The eSIM service supports Revolut’s suite of travel products, ensuring that travelers can easily book accommodations, enjoy lounge access at airports, and access emergency medical coverage

This move by Revolut, in collaboration with 1GLOBAL, leverages the latter’s worldwide mobile network and eSIM platform to enhance Revolut’s international technological infrastructure. With eSIM technology, customers can quickly and securely connect to mobile networks in over 160 countries, making it an ideal solution for travelers looking to avoid high roaming charges.

Elyas Sadou, the Product Owner of eSIM at Revolut, couldn’t be happier:

At Revolut, we're all about using tech to make our customers' lives easier, and our eSIM is a prime example. No more dealing with high roaming fees or the hassle of physical SIM cards. Whether you're snapping pics in the US, surfing in Australia, or exploring Egypt, a few taps on your phone and you're set.

Elyas Sadou
Hakan Koç, founder and CEO of 1GLOBAL, shared the excitement:

By teaming up, Revolut taps into 1GLOBAL’s massive mobile network and our leading eSIM platform to beef up their own tech infrastructure. We’re talking quick, secure mobile connections in over 160 countries. Our eSIM tech fits right into the Revolut app and gets you up and running on any compatible device in under a minute.
